We designed a mobile responsive site to allow students and teachers to maximize the amount of time spent in their gardens.

Kid-friendly data collection tools make it possible for everyone to get in on the fun. Nature Works Everywhere then helps classes to make larger meaning out of what they see happening in their gardens. We worked hard to devise a communication and information visualization system that is both faithful and relatable.

Data about garden impact is derived from the garden design tool, which allows classes to document existing gardens — or imagine new ones.

Data from gardens nationwide is aggregated in a map where participating schools can find each other, and the public can see the larger impact of the project.

Two other major site features: updatable teacher resource library and profile pages for every school garden with a real-time social data feed and aggregated data summaries.

I created an in-depth style guide to document the rigorous information system demanded by the website’s vast array of features.
