Napkin Sketch

Drawing is an incredibly powerful tool for looking at the world, forming ideas about it, and processing those thoughts. And yet, many people, including artists and designers, feel apprehension about putting pen to paper. I designed the Napkin Sketch activity to take the fear out of brainstorming and documenting ideas.

Participants work in pairs sketch an idea that answers a prompt. It can be on a napkin, or anything else. The prompts can be customized for particular audiences, projects, and goals — and range from light-hearted to rigorous, general to specific.
